  1. Make WVD session controller service availble in the South Africa North DC.

Operating from South Africa I created a test VM on Windows Virtual Desktop and the response was not great considering that it was deployed it in South Africa North DC. The best RTT was measured at 226 ms whereby 150 ms or less is required for an acceptable experience. This was mainly due to the session controller service being managed from a US DC.

  3. Full client for Raspberry PI

Since Raspberry PI i such a cheap piece of hardware it would be perfect to set up as a thin client. The web client is a good alternative but I would love a solution where the user doesn't have to relate to the underlying OS on their Raspberry in any way, just a shortcut they click and then enter a full desktop from WVD
I know there is an idea for a linux client over at the remote desktop client uservoice, but that is from 2015 and have never been given attention from Microsoft so I guess it's a dead…

  4. Need a simple way to un-assign a Personal session host from a dedicated WVD Pool to another user when any user resigns.

Currently in a personal WVD Pool ( not a Pooled one) there is no way to simply unassign a user and mmake the same sessionhost vm available for other user. This create problem when a user resigns. The only option is to delete sessionhost and then uninstall and install the wvd remote agent with a newly generated token which is a very lengthy and tedious task to perform on a daily basis. It will be better if there is a simple unassign method using which a VM is ready to be available again in a Personal Pool

  5. Provide for the automatic configuration of Windows Desktop Client

Seems like a straightforward ask that we be able to either configure a default feed (already possible with on-prem RDS) at time of install or through a command like parameter that can be passed to the MSRDCW.exe.

As a previous user mentioned, we need a more seamless way to deploy this functionally rather than asking users to perform “one more login.”

  6. Get assigned Session Host per user with an API request

It should be nice to be able to get the assigned personal Session Host per user from WVD with a REST API GET request.
Currently the "Session Host - Get" does not have an "assignedUser" (or anything like that) URI Parameter.
When possible, this can be used to get the Session Host that is assigned to a user and perform actions to it (eg. PowerOn, PowerOff).

  8. Allow changing the VM size once host pool has been deployed

Allow us to change VM size when deploying new session hosts via the WVD portal. We can change the size of existing session hosts as normal, but any new VMs ere built using the template size.

  9. Add the ability to disable the Device Registration/Account PRT enrollment prompt on WVD endpoints or within the client

Allow for admins to disable the account registration prompt on WVD endpoints or client. You don't prompt on MacOS and Web Clients. Not all Windows users would like to perform account registration of their user account on their personal device. It might be confusing to them. Even if this provide them with a better experience. Please give us an option to remove the prompt.

For education users this is very confusing and annoying. Please add an option for disabling this within Windows Virtual Desktop client or administration portal. "Don't show the 'Use this account everywhere on your device' box".

    Perhaps…

  10. Enforce MFA

    Hi Team,

    As per: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Windows-Virtual-Desktop/AAD-Reauthentication-MFA-enforcement/m-p/775217

Is there a way to enforce MFA each time a user connects to WVD?

We have 3rd party users who are to connect to our WVD environment and we need to enforce MFA.

Optionally can we block off the client and force users to use a HTML5 compatible browser?

We recommend Azure AD Conditional Access. Azure AD Conditional Access doesn’t have an “authenticate every single time” functionality, but they now have the sign-in frequency and browser persistence controls that should help: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/conditional-access/howto-conditional-access-session-lifetime.

Thank you for sharing your idea we continue watching incoming votes.

  12. Integrate published virtual machines into myapps.microsoft.com portal

Instead of providing another portal to end-users to connect to the published virtual clients please integrate them into the already existing myapps.microsoft.com portal.

  13. WVD will not work on AAD join only

As you may know of AADLoginForWindows azure Vm extension and the desire of simplifying infrastructure. By using AAD join only, that give a faster and better user experience. We are looking to do the same on WVD.

  14. Disconnected User Profile blocks Login

I’ve experienced an issue with Windows Virtual Desktops over the past few months. Users occasionally have reported (3 or 4 times) that they are unable to login to their WVD, even though other users are logged in. The issue is that between 7am and 8:30am when only 1 of the 2 VMs for WVD are turned on (to save money) When the user attempts to log in, they receive an error that says ‘no resources are available’ because WVD is trying to log them into the virtual machine that is turned off. This occurs because their user profile is listed…

  15. Availability set option on template

Add availability set option to be selected from marketplace template, on previous release this was an option but for the 2020 WVD version this option is not in place.

  16. Is there a way to customize login windows. Currently it says "Enter your credentials" and we want to change it to say, "Enter your AccessNe

We want it to customize so users know what login name they need to use. At Temple University we call it "AccessNet"

  17. Use AD Groups to Control Clipboard and Redirection policy

Instead of controlling WVD clipboard and re-direction policy at the hostpool level, I'd like to see policy controlled by AD Group memberships to offer fine grained control, and to avoid having to build out entire hostpools for users who can have clipboard or local drive access and another hostpool for those who cannot.
