Add a search ideas form to user voice website
It should be possible to find other people's ideas on this website (https://windowsvirtualdesktop.uservoice.com/). So to browse, vote and not create duplicate ideas.
So far you can start typing your idea and sometimes similar ideas are shown, but the majority of times I got "~ No ideas found ~".
A base search feature should be implemented.

Implementing Intelligent OpenFlow Controller API to reduce network congestion between various components of the RDS environment
Implementing Intelligent OpenFlow Controller API to reduce network congestion between various components of the RDS environment and for Load Balancers in the Private subnets with Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) for faster data transfer and intelligent routing for a RDS Farm. OpenFlow Protocol enable/disable option for traffic between RDGW-RDWeb-RDCB-RDSH and in Load Balancer and Application Gateway Backend pool. Also using OpenFlow compatible Switches in the Datacenters for routing traffic between Regions and Azure CDNs as part of SDN stack of the Cloud OS.

What are the centralized custom Image management solutions available for WVD
With the current situation, we have to take a snapshot and deploy new WVD session host servers whenever there is an application upgrade or you need to manually update all the session host servers or use other tools like SCCM or Invanti etc... but my question is there a way to achieve this without using any other tools because in Citrix we have the machine creation service inbuilt to handle this. So that we can push an application update to all session host servers simply updating the master image.
We have a large customer deployment around 100+ WVD session host…

Native autoshutdown and power on policies for WVD
Using Azure DevTest labs as inspiration and the power off scheduler already available to Azure. I believe that a host pool should have a native power on and power off policy with a scheduler that can be mapped to a time zone, with the (optional) ability for desktop user to extend by 2 hours/skip the day of power management.
My story is that I have a pool of dedicated machines that I will be providing to developers. We have an expected hours of operation of 6am to 6pm Mon-Fri but there will be sometimes when someone needs to stay back…41 votes -
Add extensions during VM deployment
Allow the option to add VM extensions when deploying VMs to a hostpool via the ARM portal. Extensions are sometimes the only automated way to add certain features to a VM (e.g. AMD GPU drivers)

Tabbed Sessions in Modern RD Clients
RDMan had tabbed sessions & client drive mapping, it would be good to see this feature in the new Store Microsoft Remote Desktop

WVD User controlled turning on VDI like in Amazon Workspaces
Amazon Workspaces has a feature that allows the user to login to turn on the device via the remote client. Amazon Workspaces also will turn off the machine when it has been inactive for 1 hour. This allow the user to have full control and save usage money. Autoscaling options for Personal pools seem to be non existent.
We like most features over Amazon Workspaces but the lack of Personal hostpool control with the users or autoscaling options for the admins is holding it back for us.

Prevent RDP Screen Capture
WVD is a great, but as my users are on BYOD I cannot prevent them capturing the screen, eg. print screen, snipit etc.
Citrix App Protection claims to do this (https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/secure/app-protection.html)
It'd be super if we could use the RDP client to show a blank screen if a screen is captured.

Azure DevOps Support
Provide ability to deploy WVD using Azure DevOps pipelines. Currently there is no way to bind WVD hostpool to a ResourceGroup, and the deployment fails with
Status Message: The Resource 'Microsoft.DesktopVirtualization/hostpools/hostpoolname' under resource group '<null>' was not found.
When adding ResourceGroup property value to hostpool resource deployment, template validation fails with:
'The template resource '[parameters('hostpoolName')]' at line 'xxx' and column 'yy' is invalid. 'ResourceGroup' property is not supported for resource type 'Microsoft.DesktopVirtualization/hostpools'

Allow Windows 10 Enterprise Multi-session to be hosted ANYWHERE on prem or other hosting facility but validated through Office 365 Azure AD
Why is this product tied only to Azure!? Trying to force people to use more expensive and difficult to cost calculate Azure resources rather than existing on prem hardware and software! There are plenty of ways to "hack" existing Windows 10 installations for multiuser RDP - Why is Microsoft driving companies and partners to figure out creative ways around these artificial product restrictions!? This is just a matter or licensing enforcement - should be easy with Microsoft 365 Enterprise licenses just as is already done with Office in multiuser hosted environments on 2016/2019 server!

Live migration user sessions, in order to consolidate host pool
I think we need the ability to migrate active user connected sessions (not VM) from one host to another, similar to live migration VMs between hosts in virtualization. The objective is to optimize pool utilization, similar to optimize Hyper-V cluster utilization. So when host utilization is low, consolidating active sessions into less hosts and Stop the rest would be very cost effective.
We only have a rather small pool with 10+ hosts that serve 200+ CCU and by end of the day can hardly find any empty host even with DepthFirst enabled and the low utilizing hosts are set in…

power off
Power Off Personal VM's initiated by teh end user. This is the reverse of Start On Connect.
Provide the end user a way to deallocate their own Personal Desktop. This means they can power it off at a time that is suitable for them, rather than having it automated using another tool, which may power it off to early if working late or at weekends, or leave it running incurring costs if finishing early for the day. It also negates the need for IT to be involved in this. The end user will know that if they have powered it…1 vote -
Azure WVD - Endpoint IPs - Proposal if possible for Microsoft to publish the WVD subnets - Like o365 does with 365 services
HI there,
Currently it seems that for Azure WVD - Microsoft only publish the single host /32 IP's for its WVD endpoints.
Whilst I am not really a fan of single host especially in public cloud, would it be possible that they can bring this inline with what they do with O355 services and allow based on a summarised subnet basis ?
this makes like a lot easier (IE
-not such a huge object list in firewalls
- Cleaner solution
- A lot less risk in terms of microsoft changing and causing an outage on the platform whilst we look…1 vote -
Support Connecting to Non-Domain/Different-Domain and Network Isolated) hosts
Currently every host is required to be domain joined to the same directory as the WVD instance - remove this restriction.
This would be useful for accessing test, demo, archive, acquired and other isolated environments.
